Crisis Pregnancy Centers in Minnesota, U.S.A.
Abortion is a right protected by the Minnesota Constitution, and most restrictions have been permanently blocked. However, the state does send public funds to crisis pregnancy centers through it’s Abortion Alternatives Program, established in 2005. A 2022 Associated Press report estimates that Minnesota has spent $37.6 million tax dollars to support crisis pregnancy centers since 2010. As of January 2023, there are at least 66 crisis pregnancy centers, 3 independent abortion clinics, and 4 Planned Parenthood health centers that provide abortion care in Minnesota.
